Philosophy of Ministry

I.            We are burdened to take the Gospel were it is uncommon!
a.   Most of what exactly we will do is unknown at this point. It will be a different cultural context than the one we understand.
                                                            i.  We will be sensitive to the Spirit and seek from other solid spiritual leaders there information about planting and watering among those in Thailand.
ii.  But, some things don’t change and we will go having a solid foundation already built on the Word of God.
iii.  We are prepared to have lenience in method, but not truth.
iv.  We will use the gifts God has given to us (Brittney: dancing, acting) (Brandon: instruments, sports) to cultivate friendships, and serve Christ.
                                                          v.   Teaching English will be our #1 tool to serve the Thai people!
II.          Biblical formation of our philosophy:
a.   All nations will be judged. Matthew 25:32 says, “Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.”
b.   The Great Commission: Go make disciples of all nations.
c.   Power to go: Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
d.   No fear God is with me: Jeremiah 1:6-8 says, “Then I said, ‘Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.’ But the LORD said to me, ‘Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the LORD.’”
                                                              i.  Jesus reassured this promise: “Behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matt. 28:20
III.         Why we want to be missionaries:
a.   Now we cannot imagine doing anything else
                                                              i.  The burden and desire has overcome our uncertainties.
b.   The greatest thing will be seeing dead hearts made alive!
                                                              i.  The sheep hearing His voice & people falling out of love with the world and in love with God.
IV.        Plans to make disciples and leaders
a.   The context of where we are sent will alter some of our approaches and methods
b.   Disciples:
                                                              i.  Share the good news of Jesus Christ. Explain our only hope is in repentance and trust in Him. Find those who are willing to follow Jesus, and pour our lives into them. “from faith for faith” Romans 1:17
c.   Spiritual leaders:
                                                              i.  Model Paul when he told Timothy to, “…entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Tim 2:2). Finding those faithful men is essential for multiplication, and so is equipping them (Eph. 4:12).
